Tanzania Media4Climate Advocacy Initiative — Cohort 2
Building on the success of Cohort 1, this initiative continues to strengthen the role of youth media practitioners in advancing climate awareness and action in Tanzania.
Cohort 2 will train 40 young media professionals across Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar, including journalists, editors, and content creators, with skills in climate communication, policy interpretation, and climate diplomacy. The program aims to improve the quality of climate reporting and enhance public understanding of climate issues, including mitigation, adaptation, and climate finance.
Program Overview
Format: Hybrid (online + in-person)
Duration: 4 months capacity building + field exposure

Eligibility Criteria
Age: 18–35
Background: Media practitioners (journalists, editors, content creators, etc.)
Interest: Climate change, environment, sustainability
Commitment: Availability for the full program duration
Objective
To develop a new generation of climate-literate media professionals who can deliver accurate, impactful, and accessible climate information, amplify community voices, and support informed public participation in climate action.
PS: This fellowship will cover internet costs for all trainees during the virtual training sessions and all travel expenses, including transport allowance for in-person trainings.
